An itinerary for Berlin downtown (inner city) . Berlin is a historic city and has many points of interest close by, in the inner city. Like any other European metropolitan city, good amount of walking is required. One needs to be prepared to walk throughout the day.

Place: Alexanderplat Station / Dirksenstraße
To: World Clock (Weltzeituhr) - Alexanderplatz 1, Berlin, Berlin, Germany, 10178

Time to reach: 9:45 AM
The tour begins from Alexanderplatz and then one walks towards the Rathaus. On the way, world clock is the first stop.

Time to reach: 10:20 AM
If you have been to other tall towers in the world, you may want to skip this place. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.tv-turm.de/de/online-tickets.php . Buying tickets online can save a lot of time.

Working hours of the Rathaus are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Visitors are allowed to visit during times when no special event is taking place at the Rathaus. More information can be obtained at the number +49 (030) 9026-2032.

To: Museuminsel (Museum Island), Bodestraße, Berlin, Berlin, Germany, 10178
The walk passes through the Nikolaiviertel. A walk through this area is an architectural treat.

This place is a Museum Complex with 16 museums. One can choose and buy tickets either online or at the counter. Online tickets are cheaper.

Gendarmenmarkt was built in the end of the 17th century. Around this time, french migrants settled in this area. Later, the place got multiple names - Esplanade, Lindenmarkt, Friedrichstädtischer Markt and Neuer Markt. Gendarmenmarkt is the last and current name of this place. The place boasts magnificent buildings. Half an hour is not at all enough for this place, but, this day is planned assuming that you have only a day in Berlin.
